The P2P Patching Option In Windows 10

Windows Live Mail Support

Windows 10 Features

The latest Windows 10 build, 10036, – also a beta – has somehow made its way out of the Redmond campus. WZOR brought it to people’s attention first, as they do a lot of the time; right now, many are having a go at using all the interesting new features in this edition.

What is unusual is that Windows 10 apparently lets you Choose how you download updates, and under this is an option that says Download apps and OS updates from multiple sources to get them more quickly. If you enable this, you get have the further provision to Download apps from Microsoft and: PCs on my local network; PCs on my local network, and PCs on the Internet.

Neither the leak nor the screenshot have been confirmed as real as yet, but if P2P has been brought in, the appeal of it cannot be denied. If all you needed were for the PC to connect to the neighbor’s computer, instead of the Update services each time, the process speeds would go through the roof. A local area network would be all that has needed as long as there is someone in the area who already updated their PC. Home users could benefit from fast and uninterrupted update rendering on their machines.

Hackers are probably remembering Stuxnet, which Microsoft allowed to creep in five years back. This is reason enough to doubt their attempt at peer-to-peer patching. You see plenty of misgivings voiced about this on Windows Live mail support forums.

The other features found include one to bring up the size of the Start Menu, getting it to full screen. That brings in the old Windows 8 TIFKAM feel. You also have a more consistent UI, which looks a lot like a bolstered Windows Defender.

All of this probably has something to do with the piles of feedback the company got out of users around the world. Remember this OS has already gathered over to a million different user suggestions. Peer-to-peer patching is not something that many are in need of, but then there are other features of which the same could be said. Most new features are topics of heavy discussion on Windows Live mail support forums.

The Update provisions aside, this new build brings in many other features, most as a result if the feedback taken in over the Insider Program.

Windows Server Next Is Real

Windows Small Server

There had been rumors flying around that Microsoft is working on a leaner version of the Server OS, and now the company has confirmed that these are true. Microsoft let out a new slide deck teasing the “Nano” version of Windows Server that they’re working on, and apparently this will be oriented towards the cloud. You can almost imagine calls flooding the Windows live chat support number about this.

Microsoft had earlier stated that it had plans in a similar direction. They pointed to this at a conference online, with a video presentation featuring Jeffrey Snover, the person behind Windows Server’s design. This video explains a lot of what the slide deck showed off.

Around the 26:00 mark is when things get really interesting, with Snover showing us the roadmap for Windows Server, affirming rumors that the Redmond giant is looking to come up with a lighter version of Windows Server for the cloud. “We are going to have a cloud-optimised server,” he said. “Windows Server will be deeply refactored for a cloud scenario [with] just the components required to do that and nothing else”.

The new tiny server will have an overhead subset of the one that enterprises have all come to know, and prefer using. This, according to Snover, will be “compatible with what you have today”, but will have two application profiles. Apps will aim for either the older existing APIs, or the more advanced and compact cloud alternatives. He also said that Windows Server Next allows installing a designated client, dispelling the vagueness that Microsoft has cultivated their plans around that area. Presumably, there’s more you can find out by dialing the Windows live chat support number.

Windows Server Next

Windows Cloud Server

Snover said that being unclear on such matters is detrimental to the company, in that many developers wrote apps with the local GUI admin tools, inserting business logic in these, making them harder to automate. With the Outlook for cloud computing and server storage going nowhere but up, this isn’t a good way for things to be.

Server Next will place remote desktop services above the client, enabling easier remoting on the server. Microsoft is also preparing two types of containers for this, and these will be deployed when the server hits markets in 2016. One will be “a server in a container” and the other will be aimed towards app compatibility, essentially oriented for the cloud.

About Windows Live Mail

MS Outlook is one of the best email clients available. However, it is not a freeware application. You have to buy it as a standalone application or get it with the MS Office Suite. Though Outlook is known for its many advanced features and options, most average users may not have any use for all of them. So, instead of purchasing a feature-rich email client application like Outlook, many novice users prefer a freeware that will have all the basic emailing functions.

Microsoft is aware of this fact actually, and this is why, they have included a freeware mail client in all their operating systems, known as Windows Live Mail. Users can also download this application from Microsoft Download Center. Of course, this free version mail client will not have many of the cool options and features that you normally find in MS Outlook, but it will have all the basic functions that you need for managing your day-to-day email correspondence. In addition to that, you will also get tremendous Windows Live chat support and other tech support services from Microsoft for the app.

So, check if you have Windows Live Mail application pre-installed in your Windows computer. If not, go to the Microsoft’s official website and download the Windows Essentials pack. Once you have downloaded the file, install Windows Live Mail from the Windows Essentials suite. When done, launch the application and set up your email account.

Setting up your email account in Windows Live Mail is also very easy and much similar to that in Outlook Express and MS Outlook. Normally, the Email Account Setup wizard will be automatically launched the first time you start the application, but if it does not, you need to launch from the Tools menu.

As in the other email client applications, here too, you will see that simple automatic account set up as well as the manual option for entering all the server address details and security settings. In the first case, you can easily finish the account set up in a couple of minutes by entering the full email address, user name and password. However, if you are using the Manual Account Setup mode, then you will have to enter all the details like incoming and outgoing server address, port numbers, SSL settings, etc.

Just follow the prompts shown on the wizard and your account will be added to the mail client in a few steps. If you have any doubts though, contact the Windows Live chat support team for assistance.

Xbox One Controller Official Support For Windows PC

Xbox Controller Now For Windows PC

PC gamers are seeing their dreams come true as Microsoft finally announced that Xbox One controller is receiving official support for Windows PC operating systems. This means, you can use the Xbox One controller to play games on your Windows PC! Although many different rumors ran amok about Microsoft extending the controller support to Windows as well, Microsoft remained tightlipped about it until now. If you want to know how to enable this feature, you may contact the Windows Live technical support.

However, in a reply to a forum discussion regarding the topic of making Xbox Once controller playable on computers, Microsoft finally relented and agreed to add the feature in the near future. Larry Hryb, also known as by the GamerTag of Major Nelson, replied “Soon. Very soon,” on the NeoGAF thread after one of the users asked him, “Where are those drivers they said they would be putting out for the XB One pad? I’d love a PC branded one that comes with a USB adapter, or some sort of Wi-Fi solution.”

Gamers have waited for Microsoft to create a solution to link the famous controller with the PC for long, ever since and before Microsoft announced in August last year that Xbox One-PC compatibility will be available in 2014. Meanwhile, there were lot of third party solutions that managed to hack the Windows PC to allow the controller to communicate with the PC.

While the Xbox 360 controller is already compatible with the PC, with the gamers being able to use the controller like a stock PC controller by connecting it to the USB port, Microsoft had no service similar to the Xbox One controller until now. Even now, it is unsure whether Xbox One controller will feature wireless capabilities similar to its predecessor, the Xbox 360.

Parallel to these developments, Microsoft launched the June set of Xbox One updates for gamers who signed up for preview testing and released some detailed patch notes on its private beta forum. These updates will be released for preview testing on June 24 and will include a new and revolutionary feature that will let you connect two external hard drives together for additional storage. Apart from that, you will also have the ability to choose an account that will automatically sign in every time you turn on your Xbox One.

But, for most of the average users this freeware mail client will be more than enough to take care of their email correspondence.

Setting up the Windows Live Mail client is very similar to the procedure for Outlook email setup. When you start the Windows Live Mail client for the first time, the email account setup wizard will pop up automatically prompting you to add your email account to start using it.

You can select the Remember This Password to store your password in the Windows Live Mail client. This will make it possible for you to automatically log in to the application without typing the password every time you use the system. Remember that this option will also allow anyone using your system access to the Windows Live Mail files.

Then, you need to provide a display name for your email messages. This will be the user name displayed on all your sent messages. This will be enough for setting up email accounts in most of the popular email services like Yahoo Mail and Gmail. But, for certain third party email services, you need to provide more information using the Manual Configuration settings.

Here, you need to provide the Incoming and Outgoing server address information, port numbers, the encryption security settings for the mail transaction, etc.

If you have any doubts regarding this, you may contact your email service provider or the Windows Live chat support personnel online.
